Was there a Bank Failure Today?
If there was, the FDIC would have taken over at 5 PM or so today.
They have a list on their website: http://www.fdic.gov/bank/individual/failed/banklist.html
And yes, it looks like they closed

In accordance with Federal law, allowed claims will be paid, after administrative expenses, in the following order of priority:
Depositors General Unsecured Creditors Subordinated Debt Stockholders
Now depending on your point of view, a bank failure may be a good thing.

Mike I looked at the list and don't see any of mine on there. So do you recommend using a local bank or a national one ?
