I really like how Rhonda Porter is using Twitter.
Check out this screen shot* ...

"quoting a refi for a 7/1 ARM at 5.25% with 1 discount/orig point (apr 6.670%). 720 plus credit scores w/a loan amount of $150k with 70%LTV"
That's Evidence of Success in action!
Right below Jay Thompson is Jeff Turner. Did you know many of your favorites here on AR are also on Twitter?
* I couldn't stand to use the web version of Twitter, then I found Twhirl (a Twitter API). It runs quietly in my system tray. Love it!

Thanks so much Mike. I really have fun with Twitter and must admit that it was Brian Brady who originally inspired me with his locking advice... I wouldn't be very good at twitting lock advice because every entry would be "lock" "lock" "lock". :)
I do have clients that have subscribed to keep an idea of where rates are going based on the "live quotes" I provide on Twitter and some keep up with the personal stuff I add too.
I've never used Twhirl...I'll have to give it a whirl try!
Mike - you're right on. Rhonda is one smart cookie :) I enjoy keeping up with you there too!!
Rhonda - You are welcome! I didn't want to ambush you. But if i didn't post it right then and there I knew I'd forget about it again.
I stole the idea from Brian as well. He was using twitter to deliver just the mortgage rate updates. That's the twitter feed your thinking of?
I mentioned to him when he strayed from the rates, that I thought it was wrong. Which is also why I have two different Twitter accounts, Mike Mueller and BayAreaMortgage
You will love twhirl.
I didn't like it with the two feeds at the same time though.
So I found a great Firefox add in for posting the BayAreaMortgage feed.
It's called TwitterBar. You can quickly post to a feed from the address bar of your browser. Great for posting only - which is what I wanted to do with that feed anyway.
You are always an inspiration to me! Keep up the good work!
Hi Mike - I follow a lot of my AR favs on Twitter as well. I've read several people mention Twhirl - I'll have to make sure to check it out.
Ann
Cyndee - Isn't she? We should organize a Rhonda Porter Fan Club!
Might I add, I love following your tweets as well. 513 Followers? Wow! I don't have the time to converse like some others but I do read them all.
BTW: My entire involvement with twitter rests squarely on the shoulders of Andy Kaufman - it's his fault.
Ann - Give it a try. I love it! I don't know how anyone else Twitters without it.
Oh yeah, obligatory Twitter Link
Mike, Yeah...that's the one of Brian Bradys...it did throw me off a little bit when he started doing personal twittering--although it was cute.
I do a "blend" with my Twitter...I've had clients say "so you like Dire Straights"--it's really fun. I do encourage everyone to give Twitter a try. I didn't "get it" until I started following people I know and then it kind of clicks.
It's also a way to show readers that you're not unemployed in this market if you have your updates posting to your blog site... "providing preapproval letter for great couple buying investment property".
Again--I'm honored and actually adding some followers thanks to your post. :)
I'm surprised at some of the bloggers who don't use twitter!
Hey Mike I'm actually a fan of Rhonda's (though I'm not sure we've tweeted together but hope to). The weird thing about twitter is you hate to butt in but I gotta say when you gave me a tweet the other day it made me smile and opened up a dialogue so it's genius how it works- funny how it can bring out that high school feeling - lol ...or am I the only one that feels awkward not wanting to interupt? Never hung out at bars much either :)
P.S. # of Followers doesn't matter - it's how many are active - kinda like Active Rain :)
Cindy, where's a link for your twitter? Ya got to make it easy for us!
Here it is Rhonda..... @cyndeehaydon ...looking forward to tweeting with you :)
My heads spinning! Twitter, Twirl, SEO, Tweeter Bar....and I love the "look foward to tweeting with you." Hopefully my wife won't read this post!
Michael - if she does tell her to come tweet with us too! :) My husband just thinks we're a flock of crazy birds anyway!! Mike sorry to hijack your post.
I have a hard time taking Twitter seriously. I guess with the name and the size of the platform, it seems more like it's for play. I usually use it as an afterthought. I don't think about it much.
I'm starting to warm to the whole "Twitter Thing"...just can't seem to get past the notion that it is like a student not paying attention in class! LOL
Just think of Twitter as a quick way to sneak in a little "bragging" about yourself or to show people that you're employed--successfully so! I use it for examples of what I'm doing to help clients in this marketplace...and I'll toss in some "play" afterhours or weekend too. :)
Thanks again, Mike! I'm honored.
