You may have heard a something about REBarCamp and wondered what it was, was it held in a bar or was it just for Steelworkers.
Here’s a quick PSA.
The RE in REBarCamp stands for Real Estate. The event is usually free to attend but always very popular and you must RSVP. It’s an Un-Conference with no preset agenda. At the start, the attendees propose what they would like to learn about. Once a schedule is set, different areas hold specific discussions. These discussions led by an industry leader who is there to freely disseminate real information. No hype, no sales pitches. Each session is highly interactive (you are not just listening to a speaker).

After a full day of learning there is usually a networking event afterwards. These tend to be in a bar or cocktail lounge close by, hence the term “BeerCamp”.
I highly encourage you to attend a REBarCamp in your area but more than that, may I suggest you also bring someone along who has never heard of a REBarCamp?
I’ll be at REBarCamp/San Francisco and REBarCamp/Lynchburg

Wow, I hope the information learned at REbarCamp doesn't disappear like that beer did.
Will you also be in town for Real Estate Connect? I believe our flight is coming in the night of the REbar Camp San Fran. Hope we can catch the end of the event and meet some great people.
MIKE, This was awesome. I loved it. Great job explaining the whole concept and doing in fun, laid-back atmosphere. Your the Master of Video... " We're not Worthy, We're not Worthy "
Steve - No. What you learn at a REBarCamp stays with you for life! : )
Adam - I will be at Inman as well. Look forward to seeing you there.
Well I will be at Lynchburg and looking forward to meeting you! I will be at the VA Beach one.
I haven't heard of one being held in the Detroit area yet. But hopefulle there will be one soon.
AHA! I love the simplicity of your explanation!
Hey Mike,
Oh darn, I was hoping to see a bunch of steel workers...
Anway, I attended the last one if Newport a couple of weeks ago and you're right my head was spinning. Hope to make it to S.F. the day before Inman, right?
IMPRESSIVE, Mike! Some of the finest drinking I've seen since college. Bring one to TEXAS!!
Where there is beer, there will be real estate agents. These are very productive and I was sorry to have had to miss the one in MA.
Ah - to be at a RE-beer bar camp! Great video Mike - and I love your retweet button! How'd you do that??
I'd love to come and I'll try to drag Steve along. You guys can reminisce about The Death Ride!
Sounds like fun. Hope you learned something while you were there.
Mike - the RE Bar Camps are an amazing experience for anyone with an interest in technology, blogging and social media in general, no matter what the lever of knowledge. Having been to 2 so far this year (and hopefully the next one coming up at Inman in SF, and then the one being planned for San Diego at the NAR meetings in November) I find these are some of the best interactive and networking experiences around. And they are FREE! You have absolutely NOTHING to lose and a ton to gain.
Jeff
Actuallly, the REBar Camp in Newport Beach a few weeks ago was in a dive bar ; )
There's so much great information.
I have been to two REbarCamps... they are great. The information is awesome, and the networking is even better. And I am really working hard to try to make Lynchburg because YOU are going to be there...
Just noticed the Alltop feature graphic in your sidebar. Congrats on that, Mike! And yes, I really stopped the video to read the disclaimer.
Mike.. Sounds like alot of fun.. maybe we can get one to Clarksville or even Nashville
I bet the after sessions are just as fun as the main events.
Great video Mike. Very creative. Any Florida REBars coming up?
I have been to a few rebar camps. some have been structured. I think that is a mistake. The best events I have attended have involved a lot of small group sessions where we can sit in a circle and actually have a conversation.
Mike - I didn't stop the video - that would be too easy. Instead I kept rewinding it every few moments. I see you still have one group you can post this to. How about "Build A Better Vlog"?
Jeff - Those who know , know. We can only hope they listen to us when we say GO!
John - it was a surprise to me (Alltop) A great surprise!
Lane - Really hope to catch up with you in Lynchburg. (but I understand)
T - Absolutely! I have watched some of the streaming video coming from some of these events and thought "This isn't a REBarCamp..."
Matt - Fixed it! : )
If you are wondering if there's a REBarCamp in your area... check out the website. If there isn't - Start One! Just ask me how.
I missed the Philly one in May and wish I could have been there.
Look forward to Inman News and normally they spnosor a bloggers and beer the night before the bonus session day. I may have to move up my reservations a day for this.
I haven't been to a Rebar camp yet...looking forward to attending one...or two! I've heard they are amazing :)
Great video, BTW :)
I wanna go too!
I attended my first RE Barcamp in Phili. It was an amazing turn for me! It represents the best and brightest of our industry and a sharing you don't often see in other venues. Thanks for reminding me I should shout it out more.
Mike...
A little Rain Bird told me you were serving beer over here :)
TLW...ROAR!
I am trying to get my fellow NE Ohio Realtors pumped up and attend ReBar Camp in Columbus, Ohio this Aug 19th. Thanks for the info, I will use this to get my point across. Your timing is perfect. Wish you were coming to C-Bus, would like to meet you.
MIKE....
REBar camp was one of the greatest learning experiences you can go to..I think ..and this is only my personal opinion ..it should take the place of the present continuing education in place for Real Estate agents..LOVED IT!
HELPFULHANNAH...
hickup.....burp!
Nice Mike, now I have to ask, have you ever been to a REBAR Camp? WOW! Those boys can drink....
great post! thank you for sharing. love reading all the nice comments from all the awesome real estate agents!!! thx again!
I'm trying... We are talking about the details.
Mike - Thanks for adding it in there. I think it's a great example of what you can do with video (and of course the custom Mueller jersey caught my eye as well).
post featured at Build A Better Vlog
I actually did two versions of this. One with jusy a toast at the end and then this one. Figured this one was more memorable and added a little humor.
Matt - My pleasure! The "Wild" Jersey? That was all for you! ; )
I'm still drinking, but whatever.
LOVED the video and signing up right now!
Tamara
What a great idea ... thanks for sharing.
Hey Mike!
Just stumbled on this post & YES, I did stop it to read... Hah!
It appears you & I would be dangerous at BEER Camp together!
Bottoms up!
Brian! Beer Buddies for sure!
